A typical day would find me coding and developing in PHP, MySQL, xHTML, CSS and jQuery to create and deploy applications for both web and mobile devices such as this website.
I also work with API's and third-party platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Wordpress, to include a social connection in my web and mobile applications.
Solving problems comes as second nature to me. Each day I am faced with new problems, but I have not come up against a problem I could not work through.
As part of becoming a more productive developer, I challenge myself to build cleaner, quicker and easier applications.
I consider myself as a team player, I run marathons to raise money for charities and play ice hockey for the local team, so I understand the importance of great communication and team-work and how it can be key for success.
Regularly I write tutorials on projects, programming languages to help fellow developers understand how the technology works and how they can manipulate it to get specific results.
In the tech industry, change is consistantly happening, which means so does the technology we use. I am a avid follower of Hacker News for all the latest tech gadgets and updates from the tech giants such as Google and Facebook. I also blog about updates and changes to the industry. Sharing is caring, after all.
My ambition in life is to learn more and expand my knowledge, I started learning and developing web applications from my early teen years.
Today I am still learning, the tech industry is constantly changing and the code I use changes too, we now have HTML5, CSS3 and Programming languages such as Ruby-on-Rails.
My current challenge is to learn Ruby and Python to add to my knowledge base.
